About Me

Hello, I'm Joj Macho, and I call Gauteng, South Africa home. By day, I'm a Python programmer, and by night... well, I'm still a Python programmer. My life's pretty much a loop of code. Do I even have a life? But I digress...

Speaking of life, you might have noticed that slightly dramatic skeleton contemplating "why me!" in the picture on the left. Now, don't be fooled, that's not me, or at least not yet. It's just how I sometimes feel about this wonderfully dreadful existence, which, let's admit, can be quite the rollercoaster of agony and amusement. Life, you see, is like a complex piece of code, full of bugs and surprises. But hey, it keeps things interesting!

Now, back to the main programming story. What really makes me tick is my love for blending the wonders of science with the craft of coding. I'm all about untangling knotty problems, be it through modeling, creating algorithms, or digging into data. You might call it a love affair with coding, and I'm on this never-ending journey of learning, experimenting, tinkering, learning, experimenting, and, well, getting stuck in the occasional infinite loop of curiosity!

Although my forte revolves around Python programming, my interests stretch beyond sitting hunched over a glowing screen. In a different workspace on the same screen, I immerse myself in the worlds of anime, manga, TV shows, literature, and problem-solving escapades. Okay it's still a variation of sitting hunched over a glowing screen, just with different hues and stories to explore, and much more relaxing.
I even make a daring escape outdoors sometimes, chasing a bit of that much-needed vitamin D and replenishing my snack stash. But, honestly, I'm most at peace in my tiny sanctuary – the safest haven in my world, where computer bytes shimmy alongside the persistent sound of keystrokes.

About This Workspace

This workspace is where the magic happens. It's a digital haven where I document my continuous learning journey. You see, this version is the result of countless tries and errors. In a way, it's my virtual laboratory where I conduct experiments in the world of programming.

I've created all sorts of programs using the Python language. From fun games like guessing games and drawing games to colorful animations like DNA molecules and progress bars. I've even dabbled in simulating certain phenomena, like dice rolls, powerball lottery, langton ants, game of life, and even the periodic table of elements. I even made programs that can check if numbers have special properties, like whether they're super special or not.

But that's not all. I've created games with characters that can move in all directions, built card games like blackjack, and crafted entire scenes. My digital adventures don't stop there; I'm always working on something new. And of course, there's web development too, where I've built websites for different things, like keeping track of your books, contacts, or writing a simple blog.

Gratitude

Before I wrap this up, I have to give a shout-out to the maestro, Al Steigart. His programs and books are the foundation of much of the work on this workspace. Much like our contemplative skeleton friend, Al's wisdom is a 'bone' of contention in my quest for coding mastery. So, cheers to Al and his brilliant work – he's the real reason why I can bring a bit of humor to this cold coding journey of learning!

Thank you for for visiting! I hope you discover something fascinating and informative here. Whether you have questions, insights, or simply want to discuss the enthralling worlds of science, programming, or anything else, please feel free to reach out.

Now then, Welcome To My Digital Haven!
